Summer Session at the Aalim School of Dance Summer Session 1 begins the week of June 9. Summer Session 2 classes begin in late July or August (dates vary). Ongoing classes continue throughout both Sessions 1 and 2. Be sure to check the specific class listing for session dates, as dates may vary. Also, check studio designation for which of the Inver Grove Heights or Minneapolis studios is hosting a particular class.

Specialty Workshops Try new specialties and styles with excellent local instructors in a 2-hour workshop format! During the regular season, the Aalim School offers monthly workshop classes, each with a different theme and taught by an experienced regional teacher who is recognized for her or his expertise in the style or technique presented. Through June, July, and August, we will offer two monthly--one in Minneapolis, and one in Inver Grove each month! (Note, the monthly workshop series will return to Sundays in fall.)

Registration Policies and Fees Registration for these classes is through the Aalim School of Middle Eastern Dance.

For regular fall-to-spring classes, previous belly dance students may register for an 8-week session, get a 5-class gypsy card, a 10-class gypsy card, or purchase single classes on a drop-in basis. (A gypsy card is a punch card that lets you attend any regular class at the Aalim School.) First time beginners are asked to register for the full 8-week session, as material is cumulative. Late registrations for first time beginners may be taken up to the third week of class at the school administrator's discretion.
Fees for regular 1-1/2 hour classes (not including specialty classes or workshops): $100 for a 10-class gypsy card (returning students or new beginners who wish to take extra drop-in classes) $80 for an 8-week session $55 for a 5-class gypsy card (returning students only) $12 for a single class (returning students only)

To Aalim School Inver Grove Heights Locations Salem Square Center 5300 S. Robert Trail Suite 550, Inver Grove Heights Fred Astaire Dance Studio (Suite 550) and Rhythm and Shoes Studio (Suite 200) From eastbound 494 take the South Robert Street exit. At the top of the exit ramp, do not turn, but continue straight ahead (turns into 53rd). Turn left at the first parking lot entrance. The studios are located in the row of storefronts (Salem Square).
From westbound 494 take the Highway 110 exit and the South Robert Street exit. Turn right (south) onto S. Robert Street. Take a left at the first light. Turn left at the first parking lot entrance. The studios are located in the row of storefronts (Salem Square).
To Aalim School Minneapolis Location Center for Performing Arts, 3754 Pleasant Ave S., Minneapolis. From northbound 35-W take the 35th-36th Street exit. Go past 36th street and take a left onto 35th Street (one way). Cross the overpass, go two blocks, and take a left onto Nicollet. From Nicollet, take a right onto 38th Street. Go four blocks to Pleasant. The Center for Performing arts is on the northwest corner of the intersection. Parking is on street.
From southbound 35-W take the 35th-36th Street exit. Take a left onto 35th Street (one way). Go two blocks, and take a left onto Nicollet. From Nicollet, take a right onto 38th Street. Go four blocks to Pleasant. The Center for Performing arts is on the northwest corner of the intersection. Parking is on street.
From I-94, either direction follow signs for 35-W southbound. Stay right, and follow the southbound 35W directions.
